Autumn is here!!! Biodegradable Bags (Brown Bags) for leaf collection are available at the Department of Public Works Recycling Center located on 599 Fayette Street. Every resident will be able to pick-up 15 brown biodegradable leaf bags. For your convenience, we will also be open the following Saturdays during the leaf season to give out leaf bags at our Public Works yard.

During the 2011-2012 Leaf Collection Program, all scheduling for rubbish appointments will be discontinued from Monday, September 26, 2011 through Friday, January 27, 2012.

BEGINNING: Tuesday, September 6, 2011
BAG PICK-UP HOURS: Monday- Friday; 7:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Except on holidays)
WEEKEND PICK-UP DATES: Saturday, October 15th, 22nd, 29th; 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

LEAF COLLECTION

Leaf collection will begin on Monday, September 26, 2011 and will continue onto Friday, January 27, 2012. Please refer to the Zone List (Click here for Zone List) for the collection day in your area.
Note: There are no changes to last year’s leaf collection schedule. Your leaf collection day remains the same.

SCHEDULED RUBBISH APPOINTMENTS

• During the 2011-2012 Leaf Collection Program, all scheduling for rubbish appointments will be discontinued from Monday, September 26, 2011 through Friday, January 27, 2012.
• Beginning Monday, January 30, 2012 residents may come to the Public Works Department at 599 Fayette Street for scheduled rubbish and metal appointments. 
• Appointments will be made on MONDAYS ONLY, beginning at: 7:30 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2012.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS!

• Do NOT bag leaves in plastic bags. Plastic bags will not be collected. They will remain at curbside until re-bagged in biodegradable leaf bags. 
• Leaf bags are for leaves only! No twigs, garbage, grass or dirt will be accepted in these bags.
• WARNING: Do NOT blow or rake your leaves onto the street. This is dangerous and unsanitary. If you are caught you will be issued a summons!
