The Perth Amboy UEZ is now in its 15th year of operation and has collected more than $16 million in sales tax revenues that have been reinvested in UEZ projects that provide improvements and services to the Business District within the boundaries of the Urban Enterprise Zone.

Since the inception of the UEZ, the vision and mission has always been to promote economic growth within our business community, utilizing the powerful incentives offered by the UEZ program. The city of Perth Amboy has been very successful in attracting more than  $2.4 billion dollars in private capital investment and has achieved its original goals that included an expanded tax base, stabilization of the municipal portion of local property taxes, the enhanced image of the City of Perth Amboy and the creation of new jobs for local residents.

The UEZ can proudly proclaim that since the inception of the program, and through its efforts of economic development, the City of Perth Amboy has now created more than 4,500 new jobs with more than 600 businesses that have participated in Perth Amboy UEZ programs. Public improvements to the infrastructure of the municipality are in evidence throughout the Enterprise Zone and in every quadrant of the city.   The Perth Amboy UEZ is proud of the accomplishments that have helped to transform the landscape of this once highly industrialized urban community. The UEZ has now successfully completed Sidewalk Improvement projects all through the downtown business district with completed sidewalk and streetscape improvements for State Street, Amboy Avenue, New Brunswick Avenue, Hall Avenue, and the long anticipated Fayette Street Road resurfacing project.

Our Urban Enterprise Zone program continues to maintain daily operation of the Clean Team program with funding for the MAD VAC street cleaning machines that have resulted in the maintenance of cleaner streets and quieter neighborhoods by operating seven days a week throughout the Central Business District.

The goals and objectives of the UEZ continue to make Perth Amboy one of the most vibrant cities in New Jersey, with the City of Perth Amboy recognized among the 100 Hottest Zip Codes for Real Estate Investment in the Nation.
